Submission Description:
Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) affects approximately 1 in 10,000 pregnancies. Studies have shown a 10% mortality rate with a diagnosis of acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP). Delaying the diagnosis of AFLP is frequent misdiagnosis of HELLP syndrome. Case study of a patient with pregnant with quadruplets, moments away from cesarean due to HELLP when last view of labs revealed fibrinogen of 60; diagnosis of AFLP made at that time.
