  • Describe the trends in pregnancy-related mortality and morbidity over the past two decades.
  • Identify evidence-based structures and processes in a comprehensive perinatal quality and patient safety program associated with increased process reliability and a reduction in pregnancy-related morbidity and mortality.
  • Describe at least two strategies to effectively lead change at the unit, service, or system level.

  • Submission Description:
    Despite the intense focus on reducing pregnancy-related morbidity and mortality, rates of both have continued to rise unabated. This presentation will review the impact of a comprehensive perinatal quality and patient safety program, and is appropriate for all interested attendees.
