  • Describe the changing epidemiology and associated risk factors for C. Difficile associated disease (CDAD) in adults and in pregnancy.
  • Identify the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic tests and current treatment strategies for C. difficult associated disease.
  • Discuss pregnancy outcome and effects of CDAD on mother and baby.

  • Submission Description:
    A case study of a pregnancy complicated by Clostridium difficile infection will be utilized to discuss the changing epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations and treatment options for Clostridium Difficile associated disease. The audience will be invited to decipher fact versus fiction related to CDI using an audience participation system.
