  • Compare Numerical Pain Rating Scale with Coping With Labor Algorithm, to measure and document patient's ability to cope with labor discomforts.
  • 2. List three non-pharmacological interventions to utilize during labor and how they help to progress labor.
  • 3. Demonstrate the steps to implement the Coping With Labor Algorithm to facility’s Labor and Delivery Unit

  • Submission Description:
    The purpose of this study is describe how a system team implemented the Coping with Labor Algorithm, a pain management and documentation program that is unique to measuring a patient’s ability to cope with the discomforts of labor in comparison to the numerical scale for pain assessments. A pre-survey and post survey of patients and staff perception of the current practice management of labor compared to providing more non-pharmacological intervention options to increase patient satisfaction of their labor experience and compare with delivery and labor outcomes.
