In the age of superbugs and highly lethal viruses, every maternity unit must prepare to care for patients who present with infectious diseases. Coordinated efforts of community agencies and a multidisciplinary team within the hospital planned and provided care for a potentially highly infectious patient with an unreliable pregnancy history. Due to many unknown elements in her condition, we chose the highest level of personal protective equipment (PPE) to support staff and minimize fears.
