Submission Description:
A woman presents to a tertiary Labor and Delivery Unit in active labor seeking a natural birth with a birthplan. The patient had a history of two previous cesarean sections, with the last delivery being a 30% uterine rupture after a failed trial of labor, and continually refused a cesarean delivery after extensive communication and consults by the multidisciplinary care team. The nursing and medical team overcame judgment, fear, and perceived risk to provide the care that resulted in a successful Vaginal Birth After Cesarean delivery.
