Learning Objectives:
  • Describe the components of the Quality Improvement (QI) Phase to maintain Baby Friendly USA Designation
  • Describe strategies used to sustain outcomes related to Baby Friendly criteria and to improve seamless services that support our families with infant feeding throughout childbearing to support the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding
  • Describe outcomes of the QI plan in relation to the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding

  • Submission Description:
    Once Baby Friendly designation is obtained, the Journey is not over. This presentation describes the continuous quality improvement program requiring ongoing data collection, analysis, and accountability to sustain and improve best practices to support breastfeeding. In addition to the baseline quality measurements required annually by Baby Friendly, initiatives to raise the barre for continued development of hospital-based programs and community collaborations to support the 10 Steps to Successful Breastfeeding and the outcomes are discussed
