Nitrous Oxide: Improving Outcomes By Promoting Women Centered Birth Experiences

The Vidone Birthing Center provides a midwife model of care with an emphasis on minimum medical intervention, allowing women to experience birth in a natural way. Pregnancy and birth is a normal physiologic process and the use of nitrous oxide provides our mothers with a low intervention option for pain management. Nitrous oxide was a welcome option for our laboring patients and lead to a 16% reduction in our laboring epidural rate.
