Submission Description:
A knowledge deficit was recognized regarding the nurse’s ability to interpret and intervene with dysfunctional labor patterns which led to inconsistency in oxytocin management. A four-hour oxytocin class was presented including pharmacology of oxytocin, procedures for induction, uterine response to oxytocin and the use of nursing interventions for dysfunctional labor patterns.
