  • Submission Description:
The University of California Davis Health System developed an innovative program to address a deficiency in ethnically diverse cord blood units listed in the National Marrow Donor Program’s searchable inventory for non-donor related transplants. The Umbilical Cord Blood Collection Program (UCBCP) is a state funded initiative established in 2010 by the California State Assembly to collect California’s diverse genetic population’s cord blood. A multidisciplinary approach was used to increase physician, nurse and ancillary staff participation.
