  • Examine strategies to promote direct care nurses participation in evidence based practice
  • Describe the steps for conducting an integrative review
  • Apply integrative review process to inform best practice regarding the use of pacifiers

  • Submission Description:
    Direct patient care nurses embarked on a project to investigate the use of evidence to inform clinical decisions. The controversial topic of the use of pacifiers was chosen as a topic to find relevant evidence to guide clinical practice. Integrative review methodology was utilized to allow for a variety of perspectives and in turn enables better understanding of the concept.
