H2 - Improving Interprofessional Collaboration: Best Practice Guidelines for Transfer from Planned Homebirth to Hospital Care

While a smaller fraction of total US births occur in the home, the number of women choosing this option has suddenly increased. An essential component of optimal care for families who chose this option is safe transfer from a planned homebirth to the hospital if necessary. A multidisciplinary national task force developed best practice guidelines for interprofessional collaboration if a transfer of care is necessary. This presentation will highlight best practices recommended in the guidelines.
