Title: C5 - Connecting the Dots for Patients and Families: Prenatal Diagnosis and Care of the High Risk Obstetrical Patient
Disciplines: Childbearing (CB), Advanced Practice (AP)
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the options available for prenatal diagnosis for high risk women.
- Detail various case study examples related to genetic testing and prenatal diagnosis.
- Discuss empathetic multidisciplinary management during perinatal diagnosis.
Often care can be fragmented during perinatal diagnosis, but with a harmonized multidisciplinary approach, the science of genetics transforms to the coordination of patient care in an empathetic manner. During this perinatal diagnostic period, the multidisciplinary team guides the patient and family through the often gut-wrenching process. Various evidence-based interventions are detailed in this presentation using interactive case studies.
