Title: F7 - Morbid Obesity in Pregnancy: Nurse Driven Solutions for Safe and Compassionate Care

Learning Objectives:
- Identify maternal and fetal risk factors associated with morbid obesity and evidence based strategies to address them.
- Describe how coordination of care is essential to ensure safe and compassionate care through establishing a therapeutic relationship and individualized plan of care.
- Share and discuss a care plan template and assessment tool designed to ensure a customized approach to care that will optimize outcomes.
A nurse driven program of care will be described for the morbidly obese pregnant patient designed to provide evidence based, safe, and compassionate care to this at risk population. This approach to care is the result an iterative process of learning from patients and embedding the evidence into practical tools and processes to impact care at whatever point the patient enters.
