Title: PC3 - Legal Issues In Perinatal Care: Lessening Your Liability

- Describe current legal issues and nursing measures to reduce risks.
- Outline legal defense strategies.
- Critique legal concepts in case studies.
Perinatal care providers are acutely aware of potential legal claims that may be filed against them. Much of the concern involves unknowns about legal process and defenses to lawsuits. This workshop is designed to alert perinatal providers to current legal issues and trends, discuss nursing defenses to decrease liability and how such defenses may lessen the individual and agency liability. Legal case studies will illustrate these concepts.
