CC1 - Intrapartum Hypoxemia: Evolution and Infant Outcomes

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify signs of intrapartal fetal metabolic acidosis.
  2. Review the value of placental pathology and how it relates to in utero events and neonatal outcomes.
  3. Discuss the benefits of total body cooling intervention for the neonate.
Submission Description:
The continuum of fetal/neonatal hypoxemia will be presented and discussed. Beginning with in utero identification, resulting placental pathology, and the intervention of total body cooling for the neonate, we'll show the evolution of hypoxemia, outcomes and current technologies for treatment of hypoxemic neonates.
