Title: C3 - Neuroprotective Strategies for the Neonate

Learning Objectives:
- Review the history of developmental care models and subsequent core measures that have evolved.
- Describe five neuroprotective strategies to support the premature neonate.
- Discuss NICU design strategies that help protect the neonate's developing brain.
Caregivers in the neonatal intensive care unit, as well as in the labor and delivery can affect neuronal development and support optimal short and long-term outcomes. Neuroprotective strategies need to be considered in our preterm populations as we address the neuroplasticity of the developing brain.
