  1. Identify factors that determine the safety of medications used during lactation.
  2. Identify neonatal outcomes associated with maternal selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor therapy.
  3. Identify issues of medication safety in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Submission Description:
Content for this 4-hour workshop will include current information on medication safety and breast feeding, the neonatal effects of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor use during pregnancy, an update on off-label use of medications in neonates, and drug therapy in the neonatal intensive care unit. In addition, participants will explore strategies for implementation of best practices in drug therapy.
