  1. Identify three key documents which have provided an impetus for patient safety in medical/perinatal care.
  2. Discuss the importance of outcome data in the implementation of the safety programs.
  3. Identify tools that will help with communication between team members to unify patient care.
Submission Description:
This session will explore the impetus that has led to the patient safety initiative and the effects on perinatal health care. Outcome data of two Perinatal Safety Programs will be reviewed as well the presenter’s personal journey with implementation of a Perinatal Safety Program at a large, intercity teaching facility.
