In recent years, the prevalence of maternal obesity in the United States has risen dramatically. The obese woman is at greater risk for pregnancy complications compared with her ideal weight counterpart. This fast-paced workshop will discuss the impact of maternal obesity on childbearing women and their infants, including practical tips and safety considerations for nursing care, and case studies.
