  2. Review the role of molecular testing in cervical cancer screening and how it facilitates lengthening of the screening intervals if test results are normal.
  3. Describe the rationale for developing risk-based guidelines.
Submission Description:
This presentation will provide background, rationale and actual guidelines for cervical cancer screening as determined by the 2011 consensus conference conducted by the American Cancer Society, The American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. The new guidelines integrate use of molecular testing and provide guidance for follow up of discordant test results.
