  • Submission Description:
    More than 8.6 women participate in the WIC program. WIC requires attendance to obtain coupons used to purchase foods for pregnant, nursing moms, and their children 0-5 yrs. A nurse-developed program trained Women, Infants and Children (WIC) staff in administration of the Edinburgh Post-partum Depression Screening (EPDS) tool. The WIC office provides a setting for women who may benefit from referrals for counseling and/or immediate interventions in the presence of perinatal depression.

    The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
