Submission Description:
Hospital discharge from postpartum before a mother is physically and/or psychologically ready, can lead to adverse outcomes. Research suggests that the quality of discharge teaching may influence postpartum readiness for discharge, however few studies have analyzed factors related to the quality of discharge teaching and readiness for discharge. Predictors of the quality of discharge teaching, discharge readiness, and post-discharge outcomes will be disseminated assisting nurses in implementing appropriate strategies to promote optimal outcomes.
