Empowering Teams: Nursing Leadership in the Care of Patients with Congenital Heart Disease in Labor and Delivery

A multi-departmental team care model managed a high-risk patient with congenital and acquired heart disease. Patient with known bicuspid valve, severe aortic stenosis, and ascending aortic enlargement was given a tailored patient centered plan of care to include high risk monitoring during pregnancy and a labor a delivery plan.
