  • Describe the benefits of an audio-visual aid to improve accuracy in visitor hand-washing behaviors.
  • Delineate the process of educating hospital volunteers to teach and supervise family members' handwashing.
  • Identify the outcomes through the post-intervention reports from key stakeholders.

  • Submission Description:
    The project purpose is to promote visitor's adherence to best practice recommendations for hand washing prior to entering the neonatal intensive care unit. This project developed an audio visual aid to assist visitors to improve accuracy in handwashing behaviors. A looping video was created and displayed at handwashing stations in the unit in both English and Spanish languages.
