Submission Description:
Pregnant women with Marfan syndrome require nursing and medical expertise in obstetrics, perioperative, and critical care. The risk of aortic dissection increases with pregnancy. The goal is to safely balance the dilation of the aortic root in the presence of the cardiovascular changes in pregnancy. Creating an interdisciplinary plan of care to execute a safe perioperative experience in collaboration with a cardiovascular care team requires nurses with multiple expertise and a flexible medical team.
