  • Submission Description:
In 2008, Johns Hopkins Hospital created the Clinical Nurse Extern position, now RN –UAP, in response to a large number of nursing graduates (~ 1000) in the state of Maryland, and very limited open positions (~100) . At this time, new graduates were having a hard time finding jobs. As a leading teaching hospital, Johns Hopkins Hospital felt they needed to take responsibility to create a transitional program for new nurses.
