  • Describe the limits to providing a perinatal training program at individual hospitals
  • Describe the benefits of a collaborative perinatal training program
  • List the responsibility of the ‘collaborators’ participating in a regional training program

  • Submission Description:
    Poster demonstrates change from independent hospital didactic perinatal education to a collaborative perinatal nurse training program to empower through education, nurses new to the perinatal setting. InsteP’s vision is to impact patient outcomes through education within a defined geographical area. This training program utilizes the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Perinatal Education and Orientation Program (PEOP) for 90% of the content.
