  • Review the role of the unit practice council in the development of the postpartum hemorrhage drill
  • Describe the education development and implementation of the postpartum hemorrhage drill.
  • Discuss the measurement and outcomes of the postpartum hemorrhage drill.

  • Submission Description:
    Maternal Infant Services Unit Practice Council identified a need to provide education to postpartum nurses on how to respond to a postpartum hemorrhage emergency. The council was empowered and supported to create a process that educated nurses on how to respond to a patient emergency of postpartum hemorrhage, utilize communication tools to communicate effectively, and measure their successes.
